Located just a few kilometers from the Yehiu Geopark, which one of the main tourist destinations of the north coast of Taiwan, lies a huge stretch of white sand which should, for most intents and purposes, be divided into two separate beaches: Wanli Beach on the southeast end and Green Bay on the northwest. The reason for the distinction is, most of the action on this beach happens on the opposing ends, and since a mile of sand separates the two; well, you are either going to spent your time at one focal point or the other. For now however, we are situated at the southeast end of the beach, right next to the White House hotel and the township of Wanli.
The sand at the beach among the whitest of sands that Taiwan's beaches offer. The sand is also kept quite clean in the areas of higher traffic. The waves at this beach can fluctuate from day to day. Some days, you will see no waves at all, some days, "bring-your-boogie-board". |
